Tom founded the Fiduciary Litigation Group in 2018.  His Practice is centered solely around representing clients in bringing or defending litigation where issues of breach of fiduciary duties exist.  Specifically, these matters involve Trust, Estate, Guardianship, and small business disputes.

Tom started his courtroom practice as a prosecutor and defense counsel in the Air Force JAG corps, where he earned the nickname “Hollywood” for his impassioned courtroom style.  After leaving the Air Force, he settled back in The Triangle Area and dove into Civil Litigation.  He has been practicing in the area of Fiduciary Law since 2012.  He brings his unique mixture of intensity and practicality to bear in every case.

In addition to law, Tom was an engineer in the Air Force; he started a residential construction company here he designed and built houses and major renovations; and he served as the Chief Operating Officer of a water filtration company in the hospital sector.  He received his Electrical Engineering Degree from Duke University in 1985, a Masters in Business Administration from The University of West Florida in 1988, and a law degree from Duke University in 1993.

When not practicing law Tom enjoys playing tennis, fly fishing, hiking with his wife and Great Pyrenees, and finding a good IPA.  He and Kelly have been married for 37 years, and they have two children.
